# Tumblr

Connect a Tumblr blog by signing in with Tumblr and publish posts with text, images or a video, plus an optional title, link and tags.

Tumblr is a blogging platform. Connecting it lets PostDelegate publish scheduled posts to one of your blogs.

## What you need

- A Tumblr account with at least one blog.

## Connect

1. On the calendar page choose **Add Channel**, then **Tumblr**.
2. Sign in with Tumblr and approve the permissions. PostDelegate asks to post to your blogs and to stay signed in.
3. Choose the blog to connect. To post to another blog on the same account, add it as a second channel.

## What gets published

- Each post is published straight away on the blog, not queued or saved as a draft on Tumblr.
- Post text can be up to 32,768 characters.
- Add up to 30 images, or one MP4 video, to a post.
- Tumblr posts are single posts. Follow-up entries are not available.

## Post settings

| Setting | Notes |
| --- | --- |
| Title | Optional. Shown as a heading at the top of the post. |
| Link URL | Optional. Added to the post as a link. |
| Source URL | Optional. Credits where the content came from. |
| Tags | Optional. Separate tags with commas. |

## Troubleshooting

- **The channel asks to reconnect.** Tumblr stopped accepting the saved sign-in. Use **Reconnect channel** and sign in with Tumblr again. See [Reconnecting a channel](https://postdelegate.com/docs/channels.md#reconnecting-a-channel).
- **Daily limit reached.** Tumblr caps how many posts, uploads and videos a blog can publish each day. The post fails with Tumblr's reason; schedule it for the next day.
